Ahir directs J&K Sports Council to provide infra for budding players

NEW DELHI, Jan 12:
In an effort to boost sports in Jammu and Kashmir, Minister of State for Home Affairs Hansraj Gangaram Ahir today directed the State Sports Council to develop infrastructure in the form of playgrounds and indoor stadium so that the budding players from the State could be facilitated.        In a review meeting, the Minister also directed the Council to provide sports equipment to the budding players and also to provide other type of assistance to them.
The Minister asked the Council to explore the possibility of accelerating the promotion of  various sports in the State. He mentioned that the sports icon and winners of different games should be encouraged by different sports associations, including the Council and Central and State authorities.
Mr Ahir also directed the Council to explore the possibility of prizes and other promotional facilities may be extended to the sportspersons. (UNI)
