AGs, Justice Hanjura, Karbalai call on Governor

Governor Satya Pal Malik meeting Justice (retd) M K Hanjura on Friday.

JAMMU, Jan 11: Sushil Kumar Thakur, Accountant General (Audit) and Shourjo Chatterjee, Accountant General (Accounts and Entitlements) met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Thakur and Chatterjee briefed Governor about the areas of State Government functioning which have been audited in the recent past for promoting a transparent framework of policy, rules and regulations and encouraging efficiency and accountability in the functioning of the entire administrative apparatus.
Governor stressed the importance of all required steps being taken for the maintenance of transparency, financial probity and fiscal discipline in the governmental apparatus of the State.
Justice (retired) M. K. Hanjura, who has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Jammu & Kashmir State Law Commission also met Governor.
Justice Hanjura and Governor discussed various issues relating to the effective functioning of the judicial system and how the mandate of the Law Commission could be used for securing quick and fair justice to the aggrieved.
Haji Asgar Ali Karbalai, former MLA also met Governor and expressed gratitude for sanctioning cluster  University for the Ladakh region and apprised him about various issues of public importance and development scenario in Kargil.
Governor urged Karbalai to continue his sustained endeavors towards public welfare.
