Agitating JU employees extend duration of token strike period

teaching and non-gazetted employees continued for the 11th consecutive day, the executive body of Non Teaching Employees & Non gazetted Employees extended the duration of daily token strike period by 1 more hour.
Today, token protest was held from 10.30 am to 3.30 pm, during which the agitating employees suspended their work and held a strong demonstration after taking out a protest march on the campus.
The agitating employees were raising slogans against the JU administration and in support of their demands.
Suresh Sharma, president of PDP Trade Union and Rinku Gill, president of Jammu Municipal Civic Karamcharis, joined the JU employees’ protest and extended their full support for their justified demands. They also appealed the Vice Chancellor to consider the demands of the employees as early as possible.
Speakers on the occasion, while reiterating their demands, also highlighted many other issues like enhancement in overtime/remuneration rates in Jammu University for Non Teaching and Non Gazetted employees, more grants for Welfare Fund for employees of Jammu University, redressal of complaint of employees, one time grant for repair of family quarters, work culture in JU, Rs 2750 grade case of Non Gazetted employees, restoration of Assistant Registrar position before 1986 case, implementation of court order on Rs 6500-10500 pay scale, case of Human Genetics employees etc.
The demonstration was addressed by Pawan Singh Bhau , Vijay Kumar, Ashwani Bakshi, Sham Sharma, Sanjeev Chadha, Vikas Langer, Abhinav Sharma, Banarasi Lal, Vidhya Lal, Padam Shri Padamani, Abhinav Sharma, Sanjeev Chadha, Niranjan Singh Charak, Joginder Singh Chib, Kewal Kumar, Sunita Amla, Jarnail Singh, Jasjeet Singh and Raghubir Singh Bandral.
