Agitating JU employees continue strike for 13th day

JAMMU, Mar 15: Contin-uing their token strike, the agitating non-teaching and non-gazetted employees of Jammu University today suspended their work for five hours and held a strong protest demonstration for the 13th consecutive day.
Amidst shouting of slogans, the agitating employees took out a protest march on the campus and then assembled in front of the Vice-Chancellor’s Secretariat where a dharna demonstration was staged.
The demonstration was addressed by  Pawan Singh Bhau , Vijay Kumar, Ashwani Bakshi,  Sham Sharma, Sanjeev Chadha,  Vikas Langer, Abhinav Sharma,  Banarasi Lal, Vidhya Lal, Raj Kumar, Ashik Kumar,  Padam Shri Padamani, Abhinav Sharma,  Sanjeev Chadha,  Niranjan Singh Charak and others.
Similar protest demonstrations were held in the offsite campuses of the University of Jammu.
Meanwhile, Jammu Unive-rsity Pensioners Association and SKUAST Non Teaching Employees Association Jammu (NTEAJ) have extended their full support to the agitating JU Non-Teaching Employees Union and JU Non-Gazetted Employees Union.
JU Pensioners Association  passed a resolution today to support the protest demonstration of the JUNTEU and JUNGEU for shifting of  incumbent officers in the University Administration.
A meeting of all office bearers, executive members and counselors of NTEAJ was held today and the Association decided to extend full support to the Non-Teaching Employees Unions of  JU,  who are fighting for their just and genuine demands.  The SKUAST NTEAJ  also impressed upon the administration of Jammu University  to call the Union leaders for table talk and redress their grievances on  top priority.  “Otherwise NTEAJ  shall be left with no option but to  join the genuine struggle  of Non Teaching Associations of JU, warned B N Singh, president  NTEAJ.
