Agitating JU employees continue protest, refuse to meet VC

JAMMU, Mar 14: Agitating non-teaching and non-gazetted employees in Jammu University continued their protest for 12th consecutive day and refused to meet the Vice-Chancellor for a meeting on their demands.
The agitating employees, under the banner of Jammu University Non Teaching Employees Union and JU Non Gazetted Employees Union, raised slogans in support of their demands and against the JU administration.
As scheduled, the employees suspended the work and then took out a protest march on the campus. The march culminated in front of the Vice-Chancellor’s office where the protest demonstration was held.
Speakers, on the occasion, highlighted the demands, which included; regularization of Contractual and Casual Labours, decisions on the case  of 13 Junior Assistants, Pre 1986 items of Assistant Registrars, 12 Junior Assistant of SAT, re-designation of Technical/Isolated Category, etc.
They appealed the Chancellor and Pro Chancellor to intervene into the matter to get their demands considered as early as possible to avoid further extension of protest demonstration.
The Non Teaching and Non Gazetted employees appealed all the HoDs, Directors and Rectors to come forward for the early redressal of their genuine long pending demands. They also appealed the student community to cooperate during protest period.
The demonstration was addressed by Pawan Singh Bhau, Vijay Kumar, Vikas Langer, Ashwani Bakshi, Sham Sharma, Sanjeev Chadha, Abhinav Sharma.   Vidhya Lal,  Banarasi Lal,   Padam Shri Padamani,  Abhinav Sharma,  Sanjeev Chadha,  Niranjan Singh Charak, Joginder Singh Chib,  Kewal Kumar, Sunita Amla,  Jarnail Singh, .Raj Kumar, .Om Parkash and  Ashok Kumar.
According to JUNTEU and JUNGEU,   similar protest demonstrations were also held in the offsite campuses of the University of Jammu.
