JAMMU, Nov 10:   As their ongoing chain hunger strike entered into 267th day today, the agitating Contractual Plus 2 Lecturers today announced to gherao the Civil Secretariat, Raj Bhawan and all the ministers of the State Government.
While addressing the gathering at the chain hunger strike venue at Exhibition Ground, president of the Contractual Lecturers Association, Arun Bakshi announced to further intensify the ongoing struggle for their regularization. “Since the Darbar has opened in Jammu, we have decided to gherao the Civil Secretariat, Governor House and all the Ministers of this State Government, which has failed to do justice with us,” he said and reiterated that the struggle would be taken to a logical conclusion
These Contractual Lecturers are demanding their regularization as per Civil Services Provision Act 2010, a Legislature passed for the regularization of all the Contractual/ Adhoc/ Consolidated/employees as one time exception/relaxation.
Carrying banners and placards, these Contractual Lecturers held a protest demonstration at the dharna site and raised slogans in support of their demand and also against the State Government.
Meanwhile, continuing their chain hunger strike, fresh batch of Contractual Lecturers replaced the earlier one on fast, this morning.   Those who began their hunger strike for the next 24 hours, included Asha Pathania, Pawan Jamwal, Azrar Ahmad and Sanjay Kumar.
