JAMMU, Mar 16: On 31st day of their ongoing hunger strike, the agitating Contractual Lecturers (10+2), who are demanding regularization, tried to take out a protest march from Press Club to Bikram Chowk but Police foiled their attempt.
Amidst shouting of slogans in support of their demand and carrying placards, the Contractual Lecturers marched towards Bikram Chowk, However, alert Policemen did not allow them to reach near the bridge after which the protesters held a demonstration there.
While Contractual Lecturers Rakesh Khajuria, Yog Raj, Rajni Bala and Balvinder Singh today began their chain hunger strike,  condition of  Seema Rajput,  who is on fast unto death since March 12, is deteriorating day by day.
The agitating Contractual Lecturers are demanding their regularization as per the Civil services Special Provision act 2010, a policy framed for the regularization of all the Ad-hoc/ Contractual/Consolidate employees after rendering seven years of services.
While addressing  the protest dharna,  Arun Bakshi,   State president of (10+2) Contractual Lecturers Forum appealed the Government to shed its  apathetic attitude towards the Contractual Lecturers  and adopt sympathetic way to settle the problem of the highly educated Contractual Lecturers.
