Agitating Contractual Lecturers assured support by various organizations

JAMMU, Mar 19: As the ongoing hunger strike by agitating Contractual Lecturers (10+2) entered into 34th day on Sunday, representatives of different organizations visited venue of the protest dharna and assured their support to the agitators, who are demanding their regularization.
A team of Jammu Province People’s Forum (JPPF), led by Justice (Retired) Paviter Singh, visited the venue of hunger strike and assured full support to Lecturers (10+2). He also assured the agitators to take up their case before the concerned department.
Similarly, Randhir Singh Raipuria, president of Dogra Mandal and Dogri poet, and Sunita Sharma, president of Rural Women Foundation J&K State, also visited the venue of hunger strike and assured full support to the Contractual Lecturers.
The agitating Contractual Lecturers are demanding their regularization as per the Civil Services Special Provision Act 2010 -a policy framed for the regularization of all the Ad-hoc/ Contractual/Consolidate employees after rendering seven years of services.
Meanwhile, one of the Contractual Lecturers Vinod Kumar, who was discharged from GMC after five days treatment, has rejoined his colleagues at dharna site and resumed his fast unto death. Seema Rajput, who is also on fast unto death, has been admitted in GMC Hospital Jammu since Friday evening.
Contractual Lecturers Rattan Surya, Sheraz Choudhary and Gulshan Singh began their chain hunger strike today.
Arun Bakshi, State president of the Contractual Lecturers (10 plus 2) Association, has warned dire consequences if any untoward happens with those observing hunger strike.
While mentioning about Government order no 1584-edu.of 2003 and order no.1328 of GAD, he said that all the Contractual Lecturers were appointed under these orders and they must be continued till further order.
