Aggrieved KAS aspirants protest against JKPSC

JAMMU, May 25: Up in arms against alleged irregularities in the Civil Services Preliminary exams, result of which was recently declared, aggrieved candidates held a strong protest demonstration against Jammu Kashmir Public Service Commission , here today.
A number of aggrieved candidates assembled near Jammu University main gate and held a protest demonstration amidst raising slogans against the PSC and demanding cancellation of the Preliminary exam. They also torched an effigy of the JKPSC and staged a dharna there for some time.

Alleging no transparency in the evaluation of OMR, the protesters alleged mass error in Preliminary result and claimed that more than 5000 students, who scored above 300 marks, were dropped out from the of list of qualified whereas the cut off marks was 270.
They further alleged that more than a thousand candidates, who scored less than 270, were declared qualified for the Mains exam and despite repeated requests, the PSC was not releasing the answer key.
The protesters, including boys and girls, demanded cancellation of this pre result of Civil Services 2016-17 for conducting the exam afresh.
They were also demanding a through probe into the alleged irregularities by State Vigilance Organization and registration of FIR in this regard. They announced to continue the protest till Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti personally intervene into the matter and reconstitute the JKPSC by taking IAS officers as its Members and Chairman.
“The corrupt intentions of the PSC could be gauged from the fact that they have deleted the rule 12(B) retrospectively on 14-03-16 to get immunity from releasing the answer key while this deletion of rule 12(B) was not uploaded on the official website of JKPSC on 14-03-2016. Moreover the deletion copy has not been sent to GAD, FC, Resident Commissioner New Delhi and local dailies for information,” the protesters said.
They also claimed that a few aspirants, who saw their answer sheet under RTI Act, found that answers of several questions in official key were wrong.
