JAMMU Mar 26: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Abdul Haq Khan, today ordered suspension of Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE), Assistant Engineer (AE), Junior Engineer (JE), and Multipurpose Worker (MPW) of Rural Development Department and, attachment of Block Development Officer (BDO) Vijaypur in the Directorate of Rural Development, for using sub-standard material in construction of various development works undertaken by RDD in Vijaypur Block.
During his tour to Badhori area of Vijaypur Block, the Minister had earlier asked for testing of samples of the materials used in construction of lanes and drains in Bari Mohalla, village Malkani and these were found of sub-standard quality. Following verification of the samples by the testing lab, the Minister today took action against the delinquent officers and engineers.
Meanwhile, the Minister reiterated the resolve of the Government to eradicate corruption and revive work culture in the departments and has asked the officers and engineers to work with dedication, adding that there will be no compromise on quality of work and judicious use of funds.
