Adopt proactive approach while preparing new projects: Saifullah

DODA, June 20: A Rs. 8709.96 lakh annual plan with revenue component of Rs. 3539.23 lakh and capital component of Rs.5170.73 lakh was approved for Doda district for the year 2013-2014 in the District Development Board meeting held today under the chairmanship of Minister for Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs, Mir Saifullah.
Minister for PWD R&B and Mechanical Engineering Abdul Majid Wani, MP, Ch. Lal Singh, Vice Chairman Advisory Board for G&B Ch. B.A Naaz, MLA Bhaderwah Mohd Sharief Niaz, MLA Inderwal G.M Saroori, MLA Ramban, Ashok Kumar, bedsides MLCs Khalid Najib Soharwardy, Naresh Kumar Gupta, Dr. Shenaz Ganai and Sham Lal Bhagat were present in the meeting, Moreover District Development Commissioner Doda Mubarak Singh and other Heads of the Departments and District / Sectoral Officers attended the meeting.
While reviewing the performance of various departments of the district, Mr. Mir Saifullah exhorted upon the officers to discharge their duties with a missionary spirit and asked them to come up to the expectations of people of this remote and backward district. He took a serious notice of absence of various heads of the departments saying that such carelessness will not be tolerated.
Regarding opening of new schools under SSA, Mr. Mir Saifullah directed Chief Education Officer Doda to conduct a survey across the District within 10 days in consultation with the public representatives and submit the report to Deputy Commissioner Doda and Director SSA for further submission to concerned ministry.
Mr. Saifullah while reviewing the planning and implementation achievements made by various departments in the district, underlined the need to adopt a visionary approach to further improve the same. He impressed upon the officers to adopt a proactive and scientific approach while preparing new projects as this is long term investment for the generations to come.
Regarding construction of school buildings in the district, the Board decided to recommend the buildings which are going to be constructed under SSA to R&B Department. He asked the DDC to make a list of those school buildings which are lying incomplete due to non availability of funds and submit the report to the government. He also directed him to recommend the 23 Ambulances besides one Critical Care Ambulance for each constituency in the district for the District to the concerned authorities.
While reviewing Social Welfare Department, Mr. Mir Saifullah directed Director Social Welfare Department to conduct a detailed survey for new pension cases under various schemes and new Anganwadi Centres in the district.
The Board also decided to recommend inclusion of Doda district in Pahari Speaking areas.
District Development Commissioner, Mubarak Singh, while giving a power point presentation presented a detailed account of the proposed district annual plan of Rs. 8709.96 lakh for the year 2013-2014.
