Srinagar Mar 15: A senior officer in the administration is pressurizing officials in Tourism Department to promote his relative as General Manager at prestigious Sher-i-Kashmir Internat-ional Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar.
The office of the Commissioner-Secretary Tourism Department has shot several letters (No. TSM/SKICC-06/2018, dated: 28-01-2019 and No. TSM/SKICC-06/2018 dated: 11-02-2019) to the Director SKICC seeking details about Adil Khurshid, Supervisor, in SKICC as he has made representation for promotion as General Manager Golf Course, SKICC.
However, the Director in his reply (No. SKICC/PS/19/990 dated 15-02-2019) to these letters from the office of the Commissioner Secretary Tourism Department said: “There are many promotion cases pending in the SKICC now for a long time The Selection Committee constituted by the Board of Governors of SKICC vide Govt order No. 279-TSM of 2011; dated: 14-06-2011 is the only empowered Committee to decide likewise matters.”
“There are two (02) sanctioned posts of Executive Supervisor in the pay scale (9300-34800 +GP 4800)now revised to (47600-151100) under class XI category 2 against which Mohammad Maqbool Pandow was been appointed on 22-07-1989 and Adil Khurshid on 04-04-2001, for which both the officials are representing for their promotion. The seniority is being worked out and the list will be issued shortly”, the letter reads.
“The applicant (Adil Khurshid) is presently working in the Grade-I (47600-151100) (Pre-revised 7500-12000)”, the letter reads.
“There is one post of General Manager (12000-16500) pre-revised) sanctioned for Golf Course. The post has been already up-graded and re-designed as Managing Director-cum-CEO of J&K Golf Course Development Authority”, the letter reads.
“The Golf Course was previously under control and management of SKICC which has been delinked from SKICC and is now managed by the Managing Director-cum-CEO of J&K Golf Development Authority”, the letter reads.
“In order to decide all the issues along with other promotion matters, it is requested that Senior Selection Committee (SSC) meeting may be convened, so that all such pending issues are settled by the Committee”, reads the letter.
