UDHAMPUR, Feb 21: MLA Udhampur and former Minister Pawan Gupta today criticized National Panthers Party (NPP) for politicking on Saddal village issue which was washed away during flash floods in 2014.
In a statement issued here, today, the MLA said the remarks passed by the party about the Union Minister in PMO and MP from Kathua -Doda Constituency, Dr Jitendra Singh are based on ignorance of the Party leaders.
He said instead of appreciating the efforts of MP for the development of Udhampur the remarks of the Party reveal the political bankruptcy of the Party.
Gupta said first NPP does not even know that Sadal village was never adopted by MP because under Adarsh Gram Yojna only those villages are adopted which are existing while the Saddal village was totally washed away in flash floods and land slide. In case the NPP leadership does not know this they can seek the information from District Development Commissioner’s Office. Despite all this Dr Jitendra Singh visited the village number of times and also generated some resources for providing immediate help and support to the people of the village who had suffered a tragedy by seeking the help and support of some NGOs as well and essential items and solar lights were also provided to the affected people of the village thorough his efforts. Moreover Dr Jitendra Singh worked at every level for the rehabilitation of Sadal villagers, he added.
Gupta while complimenting Dr Jitendra Singh for taking keen interest in the welfare of the people and development of his Constituency, said recently Rs 170 crore were released for development of holy Devika river by Union Government. Besides over Rs nine crore were released for Udhampur Radio Station. He advised the leadership of NPP to ascertain the facts before making remarks about the MP.
Gupta said for the rehabilitation of Saddal village the administration is on the job to frame an action plan which will be put into action soon. In addition to it through local MP Dr Jitendra Singh a road is being constructed in the village under PMGSY and after that rehabilitation process of Saddal village will be intensified.
