Adm organizes special screening of ‘Dangal’ for girls under BBBP

KATHUA, Jan 3: In continuation of its series of efforts under ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ (BBBP) initiative, District Administration has started special drive of showing films depicting feats of inspirational women personalities among girl students.
Under this initiative DDC Kathua Ramesh Kumar has devised out plan in collaboration with education department under which CEO Kathua Balbir Singh was directed to make arrangements for batch wise screening of ‘Dangal’ movie: a biopic film of Commonwealth Games Gold Medalist Geeta Phogat among girl students of different Government Higher Secondary Schools of Kathua.
The second batch of 220 girl students of Government Higher Secondary School Jakhbar along with women staff of the school today visited a Cineplex here for screening of the movie. Earlier, a batch of 169 girl students of Government Higher Secondary School Nagri Parole had seen the biopic of women wrestler.
DDC Kathua visited the venue and interacted with school girls who shared their experiences after watching the inspirational movie.
While throwing light on the initiative, DDC said the objective of organizing such visits was aimed to educate and motivate girls by showcasing such inspirational movies which can create positive impact in the minds of young girl students. He said such initiative will be held on regular basis to give exposure to more girl students.
