ADKUF expresses concern over ration problem

JAMMU, Feb 23: All Displaced Kashmiri United Forum (ADKUF) in a meeting today held under the chairmanship of  DN Kissu expressed grave concern over the ration problem deliberately cropped up by the Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department (FCS&CAD).
Addressing the meeting Kissu said that the Department has failed to address the problem for the past six months period. Following strike of ration dealers, a number of APL ration cards most of them of senior citizens, in the list issued by  the Department , have gone missing and are denied ration. The displaced community has to run from one office to another in search of some relief. He lambasted the concerned for being insensitive and unconcerned about the problem. Surprisingly non migrants are being taken care of promptly particularly in Valley, he added.
P L Sudeshi president of the Forum while welcoming Central Government’s proposal for rehabilitating Pandits in Valley said, that aspirations of Pandits will be met only after rehabilitating at single place, entire community is united on this issue.
Professor GL Koul appealed Central and the State Government that the Pandits be declared internally displaced minority community according to the set national and international parameters on the issue.
P N Raina general secretary said that the Forum vehemently opposes settling of Rohingyas  refuges and demanded a thorough probe to investigate, expose and punish those supporting their illegal settlement in the State. He further said that it is embarrassing that Aadhar and ration cards have been arranged for them whereas ration is denied to the genuine State subjects. He added that the resolution passed by the State Assembly with hidden rider is nothing more than hoodwinking Central Government. Fresh migrant registration is a bigger conspiracy to change demographic status of Jammu now after Kashmir.
Among others CL Koul Vice president, ML Koul, BN Bhat, CL Zutshi, Balji and NN Koul also addressed in the meeting.
Meanwhile president Samajwadi Party (SP) Migrant Cell Inder Ji Labroo accused the Government of its failure in making arrangements on Mahashivratri at Jagti camp and alleged neither walnuts nor other essential items were made available to camp inmates and all claims in this regard were hollow.
