ADKPUF asks Govt to ensure protection of Hindu shrines in Valley

JAMMU, Oct 22: All Displaced Kashmiri Pandit United Forum (ADKPUF) in its meeting today held under the chairmanship of D N Kissu discussing the pressing problems of the Kashmiri Pandits.
The meeting urged the Government to mitigate the sufferings of the community.
It expressed concern over the continuous cultural aggression and burning down of religious places in Valley like Maha Ganesh Asthapan and temple at Handwara in North Kashmir district of Kupwara by miscreants.
The Forum, while strongly condemning these acts demanded the protection and security of religious places of minorities in Valley.
The meeting also took serious note of the delaying tactics adopted by the Government in allotment of quarters at Jagti and urged the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner to expedite the process.
The meeting demanded that the voter lists of displaced people be displayed at different wards at Jammu and Delhi to make arrangements for insertions and corrections in them and the online facility be also upgraded in this regard.
It further demanded medical insurance, opening of dispensaries at migrant bastis and immediate passage of Temples and Shrines Bill.
Prof G L Koul, P L Swadeshi, P N Raina, C L Zutshi, D N Bhat, C L Koul , K L Dhar and others attended the meeting.
