ADGP Armed promotes 337 police personnel

JAMMU, Feb 9: Additional DGP Armed L Mohanti today promoted 323 police personnel of J&K Armed Police.
Among the promoted officials, 137 ASIs have been promoted to the rank of Sub Inspectors and 190 Head Constables have been promoted to the rank of Assistant Sub Inspectors.
This is for the first time that such a large number of SIs and ASIs have been promoted in J&K Armed Police in one go. With the issuance of these promotion orders, the 1997 batch of eligible Head Constables stands cleared.
Formal orders of these promotions were issued by the Additional DGP Armed L Mohanti today at Armed Police Headquarters Jammu after the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) which was held under his chairmanship found the individuals eligible and recommended them for their promotions.
The Departmental Promotion Committee comprising AIG(P) PHQ J&K, Commandant JKAP 13th Battalion BA Khan, Commandant IRP 1st Battalion TR Katoch, Commandant IRP 11th Battalion Dr Koushal Kumar Sharma, Chief Prosecuting Officer APHQ J&K Mohammad Shafi Rather, DySP (Pers) APHQ J&K Junaid Wali and Accounts Assistant APHQ J&K Abdul Wahid examined the character rolls of the aforesaid officials and adjudged their eligibility and suitability for their inclusion in promotion lists.
Staff Officer MY Kichloo SSP and his team including DySP (Pers) Junaid Wali and Incharge CRC Section APHQ, ASI Ghulam Nabi Bhat did quick collection, scrutiny of huge records, preparation of data thereof enabling the DPC to finalize the promotion process smoothly in a shortest possible time.
ADGP Armed expressed hope that the promoted officials will continue to work with the same zeal and zest and discharge their assigned duties honestly and professionally upholding the sanctity of public Service.
