ADGP advises cops to maintain highest standard of discipline while performing duties

SRINAGAR, Oct 5: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Armed AK Choudhary advised the police personnel to maintain the highest standard of discipline while performing the assigned duties.
He stated this while interacting with the officers and officials of JKAP-5th and IR-6th Battalions at PCR premises here.
ADGP was accompanied by his Staff Officer SSP Mehmood Ahmad, DySP (Pers) APHQ Mushtaq Ahmad Wani. Other senior officers present include TR Katoch Commandant JKAP-5th and SS Kotwal Commandant IR-6th battalions and Coy Commanders of all Coys of the two Battalions.
During interaction, the officers and officials put-forth their personal and general reports. ADGP Armed patiently heard their reports and assured that appropriate action on the issues under his competency will be taken at APHQ level and others will be taken-up with the concerned authorities.
ADGP briefed the officers and officials on different issues relating to security scenario of the State and functioning affairs of the units besides welfare of the jawans. He informed that Government has taken a lot of welfare measures including career progression chances at NGO level.
He stressed upon the officers that they have to take care and maintain their personal health against all odds and advised them to strictly follow the hygienic and nutritious diet. He stressed for taking up regular exercise, PT, yoga and gym to avoid age related health issues.
ADGP Armed informed that APHQ has taken up the strict measures for conducting DPC biannually. He disclosed that promotion process of different ranks has already been initiated at APHQ level. ADGP stressed upon the officers and officials to wear uniform in proper pattern and maintain high level of discipline wherever they are deployed.
He also briefed the jawans that they should not use mobile phones during duty hours as this affects adversely in their alertness and as such leads to avoidable security hazards. ADGP advised the jawans that in view of the present security scenario of the State they should adopt the principle of “always expect unexpected” and as such their alertness can effectively face the challenges of unexpected nature.
Earlier, Commandants of JKAP-5th and IR-6th Battalions apprised the ADGP about the functioning affairs of their respective battalions.
