Adbi Kunj holds musical poetic meet

JAMMU, Jan 10: In continuation of its various kinds of weekly creative literary activities for the last 42 years, Adbi Kunj Jammu held another creative musical poetic meet at its literary centre in Talab Tillo, Jammu.
The meet was presided over by its chairman, Aarash Om Dalmotra, a well known writer and journalist while prominent musician and singer of the State, Dharmesh Nargotra, was the chief guest.
Sham Talib, who also shared the presidium, introduced all the old participants with the guests included Mahi-ud-Din Azad from Srinagar, Syed Khurshid Qureshi (Srinagar), Masoom Kishtwari, Shamas Rajan (Kishtwar) and Rayaz Raiz (Banihal).
In the first session, a criticism round up specially held in which two Urdu ghazals “Khatam- Ho –Ga-Yeh-Fir-Kahin-Na-Kahin-Ho-Rahe-Ga-Basera-Kahin-Na-Kahin” by Bishan Dass Khak and ‘Dil-Ke-Daman-Ko-Khahishon-Se-Juda-Rane-Do-Us-Ke-Rane-Ka-Bharam-Zara-Rane-Do” by Samish Rajan, were critically evaluated. The budding poets and writers were also given suggestions to remove mistakes in reciting ghazals.
In the 2nd session, a Tarhi poetic round up also held on Tarha Misra. It was ‘Naya-Sal-Aara-Naya-Sal-Aaya. An open poetic session was also organized in which poets recited various ‘kalams’ in different languages. The poets who recited kalams include Aarash Dalmotra, MS Wafa, Santosh Shah Nadan, Syed Khurshid, Qureshi Tamana, Masoom Kishtwari, Raj Kamal, Raz Riyaz Sohil, Bishan Dass Khak, Sammas Rajan, Mohi-Ud-Din Azad, Sanjeev Kumar, Romesh Ravi, Raveej Kymar, MS Kamra, Manzoor Badana, GL Rahi, Vinod Katib, Ved Uppal and Sham Talib.
The last session was a special musical session in which Darmesh Nargotra sang three famous Urdu ghazals of Mirza Ghalib, Faiz Ahmed Faiz and Sham Talib. The meet ended with vote of thanks to all the guests.
