Two days of the camp were spent exclusively on technical aspects of bowling which included detailed video analysis of all the bowlers’ actions of the academy.
A lot of time was spent studying bowlers actions and how fast bowlers could generate more pace and stay injury free in addition to how spinners could purchase more turn and bounce from the wicket.
He conducted special classes for the coaches of MGCA, updating them on all the latest advances in the game and brought them upto speed with how to plan programs for each age group starting from the youngest age group of age 6.
He added that his job as a coach and mentor was to dispel a lot of myths and half knowledge about the game.
Dr. Gaikwad revealed that he will be an integral part of the academy and will be involved in planning and executing the right plans for the academy’s students and their future.
“The goal is to produce players for IPL and India and we will do everything that is necessary to make that happen,” he added.
