Ace climber Shivani leaves to represent Indian Team

JAMMU, Apr 17: Shivani Charak, ace climber of J&K, who has been selected in the Indian team for the forthcoming Bouldering World Cup -2017, left today for Delhi to join the other members of the Indian team for their further 4 weeks specialized training abroad prior to participation in the Bouldering World Cup.
Shivani, who will be 16 years on May 22, 2017, is one of the only two girls selected from North Zone and among 4 selected throughout the country. She shall leave for Slovenia on April 21, 2017 for the first phase of training under international coaches wherefrom the team would move to Italy and Switzerland for further training.
The Bouldering World Cup, being organized jointly by Girivihar, Mumbai and Indian Mountaineering Foundation, New Delhi is scheduled to be held at Navi Mumbai on June 23 and 24, 2017.
Earlier, Shivani was given a send off by budding sport climbers of Mountaineering Association of J&K who had been practicing with her for the last about 15 days at Tenzing Norgay Sport Climbing Wall in Sprawling Buds School Complex, Chinore, Jammu.
Prominent among others present on the occasion included General Secretary and Joint Secretary of Mountaineering Association of J&K Ram Khajuria and Shawetica Khajuria; Sport Climbing trainer, Shashi Kant Sharma, Mrityunjay Sharma, Ambreen Fatima, Shilpa Charak, Himani Choudhary, Juhi Jamwal, Vaishali, Poonam and Razia Tabassum.
