Ace Chess Academy organizes Open Tournament

JAMMU, Nov 29: Ace Chess Academy, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu conducted Open Chess Tournament , which concluded here today.
Kavinder Gupta, Speaker Legislative Assembly was chief guest on the occasion who distributed the prizes among the winners.
About 100 players are participating in the twin events organized by the Academy and the other Open event will held on December 6, 2015 at the same venue.
While speaking on the occasion, the chief guest said that sports and games play an important role in overall development of children, adding that a royal game like chess helps in personality development. He appreciated the efforts of Ace Academy for organizing such an event and stressed that such events must be conducted on regular basis for involvement of youth in sports.
Also present on the occasion were Atul Kumar Gupta, president “All J&K Chess Association” and also joint secretary “All India Chess federation”, Taranvir Singh Gujral, vice president “AJKCA”,Vikas Nanda, Rahil Gupta, chairman media cell of J&K Sports Council, Vijay Choudhary, Director Ace Chess Academy besides other guests. Mr Vivek conducted all the matches.
In Under-8 boys, Nipun won gold, while Abhay Jasrotia and Shubankar claimed bronze medal and in Under-10 boys, Divay Jain won gold, Divyam Gupta got silver and Ayush Gupta claimed bronze.
Sanyam, Manikshah and Vansh bagged gold, silver and bronze respectively in Under-12 boys, while in  Under-14 boys, Harshdeep Singh won gold, Adheit got silver and Navdeep claimed bronze.
In Under-16 boys, Harshit won gold, Nandan clinched silver and Yaksh bagged bronze, while in Under-18 boys, Soham Kamotra, Akashdeep Singh and Imtiaz won gold, silver and bronze respectively.
In Under-8 girls, Vrindaa won gold, while in Under-10 girls, Samriddhi claimed gold and in Under-12 girls, Shruti clinched gold.
In Under-14, 16 and 18 girls, the gold medals were claimed by Sanjukta, Arushi and Meenal.
