Accused Revenue officers sent to jail

KATHUA, Mar 24: As the Vigilance Organization produced chargesheet against the accused Revenue officers, who were allegedly involved in making illegal entries on State land at Dhar Sarthal, Tehsil Bani, District Kathua, the court sent them to judicial custody.
The chargesheet in case  FIR No. 05/2012 u/s 5(1)(d) r/w 5(2) J&K Prevention of Corruption  Act, 2006 and Section 467,468,120-B RPC at P/S VOJ, was produced against
Liyakat Ali, then Patwari and  now Naib Tehsildar Duggan Dhar Sarthal tehsil Bani,  and Abdul Sattar,  then Naib tehsildar Bani (now retired).
The accused official,  with ulterior motives in order to give undue benefits to the beneficiaries,  made number of illegal/fraudulent Girdawari entries of State land situated at Dhar Sarthal under Roshni Scheme.
After the case has been proved against these Revenue officers, Vigilance Organization produced charge sheet before the  Judge Anti-Corruption Court, Kathua.  Taking cognizance of the matter, the accused persons have been sent to judicial custody till  March 31, 2017 and they have been lodged in District Jail Kathua.
