REASI, July 21: Following escape of an attempt to murder accused from the Police Station Reasi, a Sub-Inspector has been suspended for laxity on his part in the episode.
Reports said that the accused, namely Rohit Singh, son of Ashwani Singh of Gran Morh Reasi, who was apprehended in case FIR number 133/2018, under Section 307, 34 RPC and was on police remand, escaped from the Police Station, Reasi,
He managed to flee on the pretext of taking bath as he complained of suffering some suffocation in the lock-up.
Even as a manhunt has been launched by Reasi Police to nab him, SI Abdul Kabir Wani, who was acting as Munshi of the Police Station, has been placed under suspension for dereliction of duty.
A case FIR number 137 U/S 223/224 RPC has been lodged against the accused for escaping from the police custody.
It is pertinent to mention here that the accused along with his two accomplices, had attacked and left three officials of AFCON construction company injured at Gran Morh, Reasi on July 16. Rohit Singh was arrested on the same day but his two associates were still at large.
