JAMMU, Feb 22: A victim of road accident today succumbed to his injuries here at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) while two women made abortive bid on their lives by consuming some poisonous substance at their respective residences in city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, the man identified as Vijay Kumar (35) son of Krishan Lal, a resident of Bari Brahamana, was shifted here at GMCH on January 19 after he received serious injuries in a road mishap at Tanda Morh in RS Pura.
However, the man succumbed to his injuries today at about 5.10 pm. The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for postmortem. The concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter.
Meanwhile, a woman identified as Renu Sharma (32) wife of Rajkumar Sharma, a resident of Subhash Nagar, made a vain attempt to end her life by consuming some poisonous substance at her residence.
Similarly, Shakuntla Devi (55) wife of Ganesh Dutt, a resident of Bishnah, also consumed some poisonous substance at her residence. Both the ladies were shifted to GMCH Jammu for treatment.
