JAMMU, May 17: Up in arms against the Government decision of announcing ceasefire against militants in Jammu and Kashmir during the month of Ramzan,  Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad today organized a protest march at Gandhi Nagar.
The protest was led by Deepak Gupta,  ABVP State secretary, along with other student leaders. The ABVP activists raised slogans against the unilateral decision of ceasefire and demanded immediate revision of the  same
The protesting students alleged that the decision on ceasefire gives  a religious touch to the Military operations carried out by Indian Army in Kashmir.
While addressing the students, Deepak alleged that  the ceasefire decision imposed  on Indian Army was purely with the intention of the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti  to slow down operation all out in the Valley. He further added that such ceasefire was imposed earlier also in the year  2000 during tenure of then Atal Behari Vajpayee Government, which had led to the killing of 828 people in the Valley.  He further said that if break is given in this peak of operation all out, it will not only help the militant groups to reunite but it will also help them to make a comeback with more energy and attack.
Others, who addressed included Prateek Raina, Vinayak Magotra,  Sugam Andotra,   Tarun Sharma and Sunaksh Gupta.
