JAMMU, Feb 14: A delegation of Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Central University of Jammu, today called on Vice-Chancellor Prof Ashok Aima and held detailed discussions on several matters of concern, including alleged anti national incident on the campus on November 22, 2016.
The ABVP delegation demanded that findings of the committee report, which looked into planned disrespect to tricolour and other higher offices of the country, should be made public. The ABVP warned the CUJ administration that any type of laxity in punishing the culprits would be detrimental for peacefull atmosphere of the CU .
The ABVP also apprised the CUJ administration about anti national sleeper cell working in campus from last three years and suggested for immediate corrective measures .
During the meeting with VC, the ABVP also raised the issue of safety and security of girl students coming from far flung areas of Jammu Division. ABVP activists demanded bus service to nearest routes like Samba, Kathua etc on half fare basis, to which the VC agreed.
ABVP also urged the VC to take up the issue of non-NET fellowship with the concerned higher authorities for increasing the fellowship..
VC Ashok Aima informed by the forthcoming Friday, all students will be issued SMART Cards and .Gym will be started in TAB also. He also said that the Library will remain open till 8:00 pm on the working days.
Prof Lokesh Verma, Prof N K Tripathi, Prof Gourav Sehgal, Prof S K Sharma, Prof Khosha and other were present during the meeting.
The ABVP delegation comprised of J&K state joint secretary ABVP. Mustafa Ali, J&K Central Universities incharge K Sai Ram, senior research scholars Neeraj Dhiman, Ramji , president CUJ ABVP, Vikram Singh Jamwal, Sahil Padha , Anubhav, Akriti, Rohit, Amit and Anuj.
