REASI, Aug 31: Acting on a complaint received by the Deputy Commissioner Reasi, SDM Mahore has ordered suspension of a teacher, who was found unauthorizedly absent from duty during surprise inspection of her school.
The surprise inspection also established that the said school was being run superficially on papers solely to benefit students and teachers of a particular family.
The said teacher, namely Shabina Akhter, was constantly absent from her duty at Government Primary School, Gildor, which was inspected by Naib Tehsildar Mahore on the direction of SDM Mahore Yasin Choudhary. Cross-verification from genuine sources revealed that this teacher was constantly absent and out of station for days together.
The Naib Tehsildar also verified and established that this school was being run superficially on papers solely to benefit students and teachers of a particular family. Out of the 17 children enrolled there, only four of them were present in the school while others were attending full time classes in different schools at Jammu and Katra. The bogus enrollment at Govt PS Gildar was made to seek RBA category benefits and also to show adequate strength so as to prevent the school from getting clubbed and also to retain teacher positions there for own family members besides embezzling Mid-Day meal etc.
Taking serious notice of the fraud, the SDM has written to the concerned private schools in Jammu and Katra to verify for long these students have been studying there so that their enrollment in the Government PS Gildor may be cancelled.
