JAMMU, Aug 27: Abhishek Goswami, Jaswinder Singh, Abhishek Pathania and Abhi Gupta smash rivals in their respective quarterfinal matches and made it to the semis of the ongoing 1st Jammu District Open 6 Red Ball Championship, being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Billiards and Snooker Association at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here today.
In the first quarterfinal match, Abhishek Goswami outplayed Mandeep Singh by 3-2. Abhishek won the first frame by 37-36 and Mandeep equalized the game by winning the second frame by 34-26. Mandeep continued the winning pace and registered win in the third frame by 39-31, while the fourth frame was won by Abhishek by 33-0. In the decider frame, Abhishek exhibited exemplary skills, registered win by 29-17 and sailed into semis of the tourney.
In the second quarterfinal, Jaswinder Singh defeated finalist of 6 Red Ball Prize Money Tournament by 3-2 frames. Jaswinder won the first frame by 27-13 and the game was equalized by Ishuk by winning the second frame by 42-30. In the third frame, Jaswinder registered win over Ishuk by 38-06 and the fourth frame was won by Ishuk by 36-06. After winning the fifth frame by 32-17, Jaswinder Singh qualified for the semis.
Abhishek Pathania thrashed Sharan Dev Singh by 3-2 frame in the third quarterfinal. Sharan registered win in the first frame by 40-14, while the second frame was won by Abhishek by 38-14. The third frame was won by Sharan by 38-11 and the game was equalized by Abhishek by winning the fourth frame by 41-0. In the decider frame, Abhishek registered win over Sharan by 41-13 and entered into the semis of the tournament.
In the fourth quarterfinal, Abhi Gupta outplayed Sohail Khalid by 3-1 frames and registered berth in the semis.
