Abhishek Bharti is a young and dynamic theatre director from the soil who has been proving his potential with every production thus charming theatre goers by creating magic on stage. He, being son of a well known writer and Theatre Director Mr. Kumar. A. Bharti,
admits that he has been deeply influenced by his father, whom he regards his Guru in the field of Theatre.

For the last so many years now, this artistic theatre director has been presenting sparkling productions to theatre goers. If we add that he has been able to create his fan following with his skillful directions, it will not be unfair.
He started his theatre career at the tender age of 12 years with the play Suraj Katal Nahin Hote under able guidance of Kumar .A .Bharti. Till date he has performed leading characters in almost 25 plays. At the age of 14 years, he was adjudged best Actor at R.K.M. Pathankot.
As an actor, his much talked about plays include Macbeth, Gud Bye Swami, Gagan Damama Bajyo, Toba Tek Singh, Cherry Orchard, Suraj Katal Nahin Hote, Kahan Hai Bharat, Pind Kunnae Joadeya, Janta Pagal Ho Gai Hai, Allad Golli Veer Sapai, Gagan Mei Thaal, Passport, Ek Disha Aur, Bhagwad Ajjukam ,Ek Sawak Eh Bhi, Pancham Ved, Rangla Jammu, Pagal Khana, Pachaas Saal Baad, Ek Tukda Zameen Di Tapaash, Neon Jarh, Inspector General, King Lear etc.
He has been in theatre from last 17 years and has worked with eminent theatre directors like Balwant Thakur, Kumar .A. Bharti, Mortein Craig, Gursharan Singh, Dr. Sudhir Mahajan, Partho Bandhopadhaya, Probir Guha, Dr. Navdeep Kaur, Kavi Rattan, Bhumikeshwar, Prof Navnendra Behl, Dr. Sunita Dhir, Kewal Dhaliwal, Vasant Joesalkar, Prof. Mahendra Kumar, Sanjay Upadhyay and many more.
As far as work experience is concerned, Abhishek Bharti has Worked as Assistant Professor in the Department Of Indian Theatre, Punjab University, Chandigarh for the session 2012 – 2013, has conducted Theatre workshops with theater groups like Natraj Natya Kunj Jammu, Nav Durga Kala Manch Jammu, has participated as Director in Folk Theatre Workshop conducted by Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi and directed two Plays i.e. Mahapralaya, Chall Mere Harna Tichhak Toon for two consecutive years 2010 and 2011.
But his real contribution towards theatre started when he stepped into his father’s shoes. Being a keen observer and innovative had an inclination to become theatre director one day.
It is pertinent to mention here that whenever he works on any play as a director, he gets fully involved with the entire process and different aspects of direction that gives him real satisfaction. With each and every production, he has gone on carving a niche for him in art arena at such a young age.
As director, he has proved his potential much to the charm of theatre lovers as well as theatre critics. Some colossal productions directed by him include_ Visarjan , Gagan Damama Bajyo, Agni Barkha, The government Inspector, X- Reflection, Janta Pagal by Kumar. A. Bharti, Ek Sawal Eh Bhi, Baba Kaliveer, Maha Guru, Pind Kunnae Joadeya, Good Bye Swami, Kamdev.com etc.
The plays like Visarjan, Gagan Damama Bajyo, Agni Barkha, The Government Inspector, X- Reflection that got him Best Play and Best Director Awards for the year 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 respectively from Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art Culture And Languages, Jammu are still talked about purely for sheer performances and charismatic direction skills.
He has also been conferred upon U.G.C. Junior Research Fellowship in Dec-2009, U.G.C. Senior Research Fellowship in Oct-2012.
The taste of success has not changed this man which will surely help him to climb more ladders of success. He has been a humble guy who talks theatre and lives theatre thus validating his group’s slogan _ Keep Theatre Live.
One may expect that Abhishek Bharti will continue the same way with all dedication and devotion thus giving colossal productions to theatre lovers in future too. The future of theatre movement lies on young theatre directors like him. Let’s hope that aspirations of theatre lovers will get fulfilled.
