Abhinaya Kala Manch presents Hindi play ‘Spartacus’

REASI, July 8: Badal Sircar’s Hindi Play “Spartacus” was presented by Abhinaya Kala Manch Reasi at NHPC Auditorium Jyotipuram, here today.
The play was directed by Shadab Khan and supported by Union Ministry of Culture under the project CFPGS for the year 2017-18.
Rakesh Goel, Chief Engineer (Civil), Salal Power Station (NHPC), was the chief guest, while Jameel Anjum, Deputy Commandant, STC Talwara Reasi, was the guest of honour. Raj Rahee, renowned writer, Sanjay Goel and Varinder Kumar (Manager) were the special guests.
“Spartacus” is the story based on Roman Empire; the story revolves around a main character Spartacus, who fights against slave system prevalent in that era. Spartacus is the only slave who first speaks against Roman Empire’s slave system. He refuses to do the work of slaves or labour any more for the Emperor and in his war of freedom many slaves slowly joins him.
They demand that the empire should treat them as a human being and provide them their basic human rights like to live, right to speak, etc. Spartacus fights for not only him but for their fellow slaves but unfortunately in that war of freedom the Roman Empire kills him and some of his associates very badly.
In his last words before death, Spartacus says, “I will come back in millions of people and again I will speak for the freedom and human rights. And my dear friend the war for human rights is still going on”.
The artists who performed in the play include Shubam Sahwani, Anjali Anand, Arun Verma as Karlos (Sanapati), Neeraj Kesar, Shadab Khan, Isha Sharma, Manjeet Singh, Sawan Sangral, Karan Bansotra, Pritam Kumar, Rohit Kumar, Happy, Anil Kumar, Harshdeep Singh, Akash Deep Singh,  Bhagam Bali and Anmol Sharma.
The back stage lights were executed by Lucky, Rohit and Sawan, screen play by Aasim Khan, sound/ music was given by Isha, Anjali and Shubam, set was designed by Neeraj Kesar, Make-up by Akram Khan and Arun Verma and costumes were designed by Rifat Khan.
