Abdullah polarizing environment for electoral gains: BJP

Srinagar, Mar 28: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today took a dig at National Conference (NC) president Dr Farooq Abdullah for allegedly polarizing the environment in Kashmir ahead of Lok Sabha by-polls in Kashmir.
In a statement here, the BJP spokesman Khalid Jehangir said alleged that NC president is playing a communal card to lure the voters.”It seems Dr Farooq has forgotten that when he was the union minister he used to sing bhajans and participate in the religious functions to prove his secular character,” he said.
Farooq is NC’s candidate for upcoming parliamentary bye-elections from Srinagar constituency. “Today, Dr Farooq is talking about Jihad and Azadi. He is doing so to just seek votes. He is trying to polarize the environment for his electoral gains and is trying his best to malign the image of BJP.
“He cannot digest the fact that people of India irrespective of colour, caste, creed and religion are voting for BJP. The path breaking initiatives taken by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi have put India on the path of prosperity and progress. The rise of BJP has decimated parties like Congress and National Conference, who believed in family Raaj only,” said Jehangir.
