Aamir scores 92, Rayees takes 5 wkts as RS Banihal lifts title

RAMBAN, July 22: Aamir played a brilliant innings of 95 runs, while Rayees took 5 important wickets to help Rising Sports (RS) Banihal lift the title trophy of the Ramban District JKCA Premier Championship, organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association at Police Line ground, here today.
The final was played between Rising Sports Banihal and Combine Chanrok Ramban.
Winning the toss and batting first, Rising Sports Banihal scored a big total of 213 runs in 20 overs. Aamir top scored with 92 runs, while Asif Malik contributed 46 runs to the total.
In reply, Combine Chanrok Ramban managed to score 114 runs, thus lost the match by 99 runs. Anikait top scored  with 46 runs. Rayees was the wrecker-in-chief, who scalped 5 important wickets, while Amir Wani claimed 2 wickets. Aamir Wani was declared as the man of the match for his all-round show. Aamir Wani was also adjudged as the best batsman, while Danish Malik was declared as the best bowler.
The objective of the tournament was to provide opportunity to the participating players to showcase their talent and reserve berth as probable for JKCA under the notable administration of Justice CK Prasad, retired Judge of the Supreme Court and Justice Syed Rafat Alam, Chief Justice of MP and Allahabad High Courts & Chief Executive Officer, JKCA, Ashiq Hussain Bukhari, retired DIG.
The tournament was organised in phase 2nd under the supervision of Sham Saroop Kalsotra, Committee Member, JKCA, Jammu.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (Head Qtr Ramban), Asgar Malik was the chief guest in the closing ceremony, who in the presence of the guests of honour namely Sham Saroop Kalsotra, Chander Mohan Sharma, Abdul Hamid Wani and Rashid Ahmed Dar distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up teams.
Jatinder Singh, Mushtaq Ahmed and other members of Ramban District Tournament Organising Committee arranged the function.
