Former CVC, PSC Chairman call on Governor

JAMMU, Nov 10: Kuldeep Khoda, former Chief Vigilance Commissioner, J&K, called on Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Khoda informed the Governor about the varied serious problems/difficulties faced by the common people for lack of complete transparency and accountability in the functioning of the public delivery systems and suggested measures for improving the quality of public services for promoting the welfare of the common people.
Governor advised Khoda to continue his endevours to discourage corruption and highlight the good work done by honest individuals and well run institutions, even if these are privately owned.
Mohd. Shafi Pandit, former Chairman, J&K Public Service Commission (PSC) also called on Governor.
Pandit informed the Governor about the results so far achieved and the activities being presently undertaken by the institution being run by him to provide coaching to students who are preparing for the Civil Services Examination and for admission to IITs. This coaching centre has been set up under the aegis of the Govt of India’s scheme for promoting the interests of the minority communities.
The Governor urged Pandit to continue his endeavours for promoting the career prospects of youth in every possible manner.
