Sehaj, Raksha, Ankita emerge winners in Classical Dance, Animesh, Harneet, Pushpa register victories in Elocution

JAMMU, Oct 5: Classical Dance and Elocution competition were held during the ongoing ‘Display Your Talent’, being organized by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu at Brigadier Rajinder Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu, here today.
Dean Students Welfare, Prof Satnam Kour, Associate Dean (SW) Dr Anupama Vohra, Assistant Deans (SW) Dr Parmil Kumar, Dr AR Manhas and various faculty members, students and scholars of the University of Jammu were present during the events.
In Classical Dance, the first prize was won by Sehaj Jain from GCW Gandhi Nagar. Raksha Godia and Ankita Yadav from Institute of Music and Fine Arts secured second and third positions respectively.
VN Kohli, Preeti and Prabhjot Kour were the judges and Dr Shashiprabha was the Teacher Incharge.
In Elocution, very relevant and contemporary topics like ‘Save Environment’, ‘Road Safety’, ‘Social Media’, ‘Changing Values’ etc. were given to the candidates. Animesh Tiwari from SPMR College of Commerce secured first position. Harneet Singh from Department of Political Science secured second position. The third prize was given to Pushpa Devi from Department of Geography. Certificates of Merit were awarded to Sahil Balotra from The Business School, JU and Akhter Hussain from GDC Udhampur.
Prof Lalit Magotra, Prof Poonam Dhawan and Abhimanyu Dev Singh Billawaria were judges and Dr Vishav Raksha was the Teacher Incharge of the event.
The events were coordinated by Sumeet Sharma, Drama Instructor. Divya Sharma, Mohit Mahajan, Pallvi Kunwer, Sona Sharma, Manreet Kour, Anjali Sharma and Payal Sharma did the Hall Management. The sound was operated by Kulbhushan Thakur.
A debate competition will be held on October 7 at Brigadier Rajinder Singh Auditorium.
