'Black
Day' in Valley on Hurriyat call Excelsior Special Correspondent SRINAGAR, Oct 27: While as several localities in Kashmir valley today observed a "Black Day" on 52nd anniversary of the Indian Army's first arrival in the State, police and armed forces eliminated six militants in two different encounters in Budgam and Kupwara districts. M Sayeed was today unanimously re-elected
as Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha for a
second consecutive term following a
consensus reached on leaving the post for
the main opposition. Fifty-eight-year-old
Padannatha Mohammad Sayeed, representing
Lakshadweep for the tenth consecutive
term, was elected after the motion moved
by Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee
and seconded by leader of the opposition
Sonia Gandhi was carried by a voice vote
amidst thumping of desks.......
