SRINAGAR, Nov 27: In a major strike this evening, militants killed two house guards of the Bandipore-based Awami League leader Mohammad Anwar Sheikh, left his wife and daughter-in-law critically injured, torched his house at Rampora and looted the arms and ammunition while as the protected person was himself 'missing' alongwith his 7 more house guards and Personal Security Officers (PSOs).......more

Dr Farooq AbdullahSRINAGAR, Nov 27: The Chief Minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah, who is also the chairman, J&K Muslim Auqaf Trust (MAT), today said that the MAT was actively considering satting up an Islamic University in Kashmir.

Addressing the General Body meeting of the MAT here, immediately after his arrival from Jammu on a day's visit to Srinagar, Mr Abdullah said a comprehensive plan was being formulated for the proposed University for the establishment of which the Trust was committed. Experts have been approached and the plan is expected to be shortly formulated, he added.......more
