Prof Chaman Lal GuptaJAMMU, Nov 9: The Village Defence Committees in J&K will be strengthened and provided with sophisticated weapons including wireless sets. This was disclosed here today by the Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta. He said that Central Government has sanctioned new 5,200 posts of Special Police Officers (SPOs) for the J and K State. He further said that the Union Home Ministry has also sanctioned about 3,500 AK-47 rifles and about 1200 wireless sets which will be provided to the VDCs in the State..............more
