The applicant should be a permanent resident of Jammu and Kashmir State; 2. should have passed the Secondary School Examination (Matriculation) of the J&K State Board of School Education or equivalent examination from any other recognised Board/University with English, Mathematics, Science as elective subjects. 3. should not be less than 15 years and not more than 23 years of age as on 31-12-1999; 4. as enshrined in SRO 123 of 1990 dated 15.7.1998, the applicant seeking consideration under the ‘Open Merit’ category must have obtained not less than 50% marks in the aggregate in the Secondary School/Matriculation examination, while the candidate claiming the benefit of consideration under reserved categories must have obtained not less than 40% marks in the aggregate in the Secondary School Examination.; 5. the applicant claiming the benefit of consideration for selection on the basis of their belonging to any of the reserved category shall attach copy of the requisite certificate issued by the concerned Competent Authority in the prescribed format as specified in SRO 126 of 1994 dated 28.6.1994 and indicated in the information brochure; 6. the applications not appended with the required category certificate will be summarily rejected, if otherwise found eligible under Open-Merit.
