Defence Minister George FernandesPARADIP (ORISSA), Nov 1: Food riots broke out in several parts of Orissa and an IAF chopper carrying Defence Minister George Fernandes and two of his ministerial colleagues was attacked today as the State continued to reel under the devastating impact of the century’s worst cyclone which may have left over 3000 dead. As rescue and relief teams struggled to overcome transport bottlenecks to ferry food and water to worst-hit coastal areas, IAF airdropped 32 tonnes of food and pouches containing drinking water meant.......more
