Education in Rajouri Sir, It is a matter of grief that the standard of general and physical education has worsen in Rajouri even when the Education Minister belonged to the same district. Education is the only aspect which makes a human being to distinguish between good and bad. As far as Gen. Education is concerned, the officers of Education Department have forgotten to visit the schools under their jurisdictions. No officer of the Education Department bothers whether the institutions are running with one teacher or with required no. of teachers, whether there are required number of students where a group of teachers is working. The transfer system here is totally forgotten. Only a few people close to the Chief Education Officer or the Minister have their choice posting whenever they need it. Most of the teachers/lecturers and masters working in Govt. schools as well as private institutions simultaneously. They take keen interest to do the job in private institutions and do not bother about the fate of the poor who study in Govt. Institutions. Some of the teachers/lecturers are running their private academies at different places in Rajouri. Besides, the material provided in the schools is of low standard. Lakhs of rupees are being spent every year but of no use. The chairs, tables, black boards, desks, jute mattings and chalks etc. and other science material are of poor quality and do not last longer. Buildings of many institutions need repairs but no attention is paid towards them. Most of the schools are without the drinking water and bath-rooms facility where the strength of the students is 200 or more. Female staff and female students are facing a great difficulty due to the non-availability of this unavoidable facility. Next the role of 'DIET RAJOURI' is worsening day by day. One cannot have any information from this institution well in time. Recently a Science exhibition was organised by this institution in the month of November 99. Most of the schools were not aware of the exhibition. And very interesting to note that a school which won the first prize in last years science exhibition was not informed even this year by DIET Rajouri. It is also learnt that the last year's, model of that school has been selected for National Award by the SIE Jammu. Similarly the standard of physical education is degrading day by day. First of all a full fledged Distt. Officer is not deputed to the Distt. So there is no one to give a patient hearing to the complaints and redressing them. Many of the Institutions are hit with mismanagement. During the tournaments no arrangement is made for drinking water, refreshment lodging etc. Young children wonder here and there in search of water and other necessities. I on behalf of Rajouri people request the administration to take some remedial measures to improve the standard of education in Rajouri districts. Yours etc... |
