JKLF chairman Ammanullah Khan also warned that non-resolution of the Kashmir issue for long had the potential of leading to a nuclear war between India and Pakistan. Kashmir situation back to 89 position: Pilot

NEW DELHI, Dec 19: Senior Congress leader Rajesh Pilot today expressed apprehensions that the situation in Kashmir valley was reverting to 1989-90 position with infiltration reaching its peak this year and accused the Government of hiding the gravity of the problem. If it really reaches that position, then it will be most difficult to retrieve from there, he said in an interview in which he stressed the need for initiating political dialogue with the militants to resolve the Kashmir problem. .......more

Kashmir a possible nuclear flashpoint: Gen Musharraf

ISLAMABAD, Dec 19: Pakistan’s military ruler General Pervez Musharraf has said Kashmir is a possible nuclear flashpoint in South Asia and urged India to show sincerity in resolving the vexed issue which is the major source of tension between the two countries. The recent developments in South Asia have shown that Kashmir was a possible nuclear flashpoint in the region, Gen Musharraf said yesterday in an obvious reference to the Kargil conflict.
