Nothing will hapen on May 8
(I)

Sir,

Mr R N Narender has predicted overall collapse of the Universe on this day which is not accountable in view of the fact that nine planets cannot come in combination in a particular house at all. The Rahu and Ketu cannot meet together in any circumstances as propounded by Astrologers. The Sun is in exalted position and it is sufficient proof that nothing abnormal shall happen on this day. The sun, the moon and the first house form the Tripod of life. The sun is exalted, moon auspicious and first house dominated by mercury. All the three add support to this view. The Suriya Sidant has laid down that retardation of progress and obstacles shall take place due to the fact that 8th. May falls on Saturday. According to the title of the year, the same is famous as Nandan (auspicious). Man could not live by bread alone but he pined for inner calm and poise that only a pursuit of spiritual goal could confer. Every planet has full and complete gravity only between 120 to 210. The 8th May falls on 25th of Baisak 2056 which is not located in between 12 and 21. The Saturn is the only signal of terror and the direction covered is the West. Therefore in nutshell by the grace of Almighty nothing bad or abnormal shall happen on 8th. No saint or principal of any Math has ever predicted such happening so far. The influence of 8 planets is balanced and let us hope for world peace and do our duty as obedient to God Almighty.

This is in reference to news item published on Page 4 of Daily Excelsior dated 11.4.99 by B L Kak. According to astrology there is no 'ASHTAGRAH YOG' (the eight planets in line) on 8th May 1999. Once in 4.2.1962 there was ASHTGRAH YOG' which spread terror throughout the country. At that time also, I had mentioned that there was nothing to worry about. Accordingly nothing happened. After going through this article as incentioned above, I have consulted a number of books and found that nothing is going to happen about this time also. The day will pass like other days and anybody, who want to know anything more about it, can consult me on the following address -

Coaching for IAS Exam

Sir,

It is submitted that every year around 400 candidates appear in I.A.S. from Jammu Centre. Most of these candidates are from semi-Urban or even from rural//backward areas and as such are unable to get proper guidance for a premier exam like IAS. Further, as most of the private coaching Institute have been virtually acting as teaching shops charging exorbitant rates and are either incompetent or out of reach of common candidates. Hence it is need of the hour that Coaching/guidance may kindly provided for I.A.S (P)-1999 at least for popular optional subject like political science and History etc. under the agesis of IMPA etc.

This will be a great asset/help to the candidates of J&K who are already a disadvantage group and have suffered on account of militancy and disturbance in the Education. It is humbly suggested that if the IMPA finds it difficult to impart coaching free of cost due to financial problem it may kindly resort to providing coaching on reasonable fees. On no profit no loss basis. It may be brought to your notice that good teachers are available in Jammu for Coaching of popular subject like History. Political Science etc. A notification may kindly be placed in the local news papes by IMPA so that more number of candidates get awareness of this programme.

It is strange paradox that the Govt which used to Sponsor candidate free of cost for coaching and boarding and lodging to far away places like Delhi. Today is reluctant even to start a self financed (paid) courses for the benefit of Students of J&K. We urge the authorities to kindly take an urgent note of this matter and do the needful.

Lowering retirement age

Sir,

We read almost daily in Daily Excelsior about the demonstrations meetings of the low paid employees and other organizations of the state regarding enhancing of the retirement age of the state Govt, employees.

As already pointed out by the State Governor and the State Govt, all the Govt departments are already overstaffed which is a burden on the state exchequer. If one visits any offices, he sees most of the staff sitting idle, gossiping and some of them away from office doing their personal Jobs. I think there is dire need to Curtail the staff in Govt, departments. This is the appropriate time that the Govt is considering to lower the retirement age of the state govt employees. I think only those employees who are at the verge of retirement are pressuring their unions to express their demand regarding enhancement of retirement age but most of the empoyees in all the departments shall be happy if the Govt lowers the retirement age of the employees because there is stagnation in almost all the departments and the employees are waiting for their promotions.

I often see that employees advise the Govt of saving so many hundreds of crores of rupees if the Govt enhances the retirement age but why then they are demanding in cash the arrears of the dearness allowance and the arrears of Fifth Pay Commission scales. If really they have sympathy with the Govt, then they should have no objection if their cummulative arrears go to G P Fund account.

Thousands of youngesters who are educated and those who have done graduation in various disciplines are sitting idle without job from last so many years, in some case more than 6-8 years and have become frustrated. If such is the condition then what will be future of the nation.

The State Govt is taking a right decision of lowering the retirement age of the empoyees. In no way it should come under pressure of the Unions. All the right thinking people shall support the Govt in this case because the stagnation problem shall be solved. Unemployment which is & curse shall also be solved and the Govt will save money on account of less starting salary to newly recruits than fat salaries being drawn by the employees nearing retirement.

Yours etc...
