Stop abetting terrorism I Sir, The leaders of Pakistan have always assumed that the hammer of war alone can shape the political and geographical future of the sub-continent to their advantage on the anvil of aggression. This assumption of the leaders of Pakistan has proved them without doubt gods of destruction rather than of redemption. The redemptive God suffers for others. The Gods of destruction, chief among whom Pakistan is, rain fire and brimstone over others. The leaders of Pakistan, their electronic and print media are always quick to christen the Terrorists exported by them into otherwise peaceful State of Jammu and Kashmir as "Mujahadeen'' or in other words "Soldiers of Faith.'' The punitive action against them by the legally constituted law-enforcing agencies is termed by them in full-throated yells as violation of Human Rights. Their definition of "Personhood'' does in no way mean respecting individuality and autonomy of the other. It is of no concern to them that their "Mujahadeen'' have left 3,00,000 Kashmiri Pandits, Sikhs and Christians hungry, shelterless, widowed, orphaned and have been rendered helpless and hopeless, living the lives of animals. To the leaders of Pakistan Articles 3 to 21 of the Universal Declaration of Human rights 1948 which set forth the Civil and Political Rights to which all human beings are entitled to have absolutely no meaning. The leaders of Pakistan are carried away by the spurious heroism of aiding and abetting terrorism. They are blind to the fact that it promises to be a phenomenon of cowardice. There is nothing heroic about raining missiles and bullets. At any rate, Terrorism is a bloody affair. It yields only corpses and cripples. The leaders of Pakistan are not ready to understand that campaigns of terror have seldom attained their goals. What is most disturbing is the statement of our Chief Minister, Dr. Farooq Abdullah in which he is reported to have stated: "My 60,000 Muslim and a few thousand Kashmiri Pandits have so far lost their lives in the terrorist-related activities. "This statement of a democratically elected popular leader is sufficient to indicate that the "Mujahadeen'' of Pakistani leaders have made a change in the composition of the victims of war. Civilian and colateral casualties were minimal in the 3 wars of 1947, 1965 and 1971 thrust on India by Pakistan. The Statement of our Chief Minister reveals that Pakistan has brought the site of destruction closer to those who were not directly involved in terrorism, I mean the Kashmiri Pandits and the nationalist Muslims, Sikhs and Christians. If the Pakistan Senate approves the "Shariat Bill'', the Holy Qu'ran and the "Sunnah'' shall be the supreme law of Pakistan. The same Pakistan leadership, on the other hand, directs its "Mujahadeen'' in Kashmir to set ablaze School and College buildings in utter disregard to the sayings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH): "THE INK STAINED FINGERS OF A SCHOLAR ARE MUCH MORE HOLIER THAN THE BLOOD OF A MARTYR. "and "FOR THE ACQUISITION OF KNOWLEDGE EVEN IF YOU MAY HAVE TO GO CHINA, YOU SHOULD GO. "Yes, to China the Pakistani leaders go, but not for the acquisition of knowledge but to get weapons of destruction. Talks between India and Pakistan can only be successful if Pakistan stops romanticising the terrorists. It should realise that peace is not an ornament or a political rhetoric. It is a pre-condition for survival and development. It should believe that peace can endure only on the foundation of justice and constructive approach to human-well-being. But this is not the priority with those who rule the roost in Pakistan. I suggest to the leaders
of Pakistan to keep their hands off from aiding and
abetting the terrorists and to reconcile to the historic
reality that the Qutab Minar, the Red Fort and Srinagar
are located in India lest the war of the future does not
degenerate into a war on future for them. |
