SAHYOG adopts hapless children for studies

Excelsior Correspondent

JAMMU, Dec 3: When the people are enjoying every day and night in hotels, clubs sharing varietal dishes and flying abroad to get modernized education in the higher luxurious study circles at the same time there are crores of such poor, orphan children who peep for a single ‘‘chappati’’ and one spoon of ‘‘Dal’’ to satisfy the starving stomachs in the country and ultimately fall prey to the evils by remaining illetrate. In spite of Government's efforts at State and Centre level, three are still crores of unnoticed and unattended helpless children who are still considered as the burden, being not identified under any welfare scheme launched by Government agencies or by Social organisations.

When the country is passing through the critical times, it is the moral duty of the social organisations to come forward to tackle these issues to have a strong nation by tomorrow. It is not a big task, hardly 5 per cent of one's true income can feed a needy child who has to become our tomorrows future, said Dr Ashwani Jojra Founder President ‘‘SAHYOG’’ while speaking in a simple function arranged at his residence in honour of the orphan, poor and needy children, where they were adopted by the organisation for education till completion.

The all ten children adopted for education belong to different walks of life and hail from the rural areas. The children are Master Sourav Gupta 13, studying in 7th class, Master Tarun Gupta 9, studying in 3rd, Gaurav Gupta 12 years in 6th, they are all fatherless students as their father Mr Satish Kumar Gupta, the only source of income left them alone, a month back leaving behind a helpless widow.

The next three children are of a father Durga Dass who is aged and with no source of income and has lost vision and vigour to work to earn livelihood. They are Miss Monika 14, studying in 4th, Sonia 11 class-end, Master Roshan Lal aged 5 years class-Nursery. The next four are the children of Krishan Lal of village Sheikey-Chack, who is a handicapped with no land and source of income. They are Master Balbir, class-8th, Master Pawan 10, Master Sunil age 8 and Master Ravi age 6 years class -LKG.

Those who will serve these children by supplying required study materials like books, notebooks, uniforms, foot-wears (seasonal) under the banner of SAHYOG are Dr Ashok Jerath IBS, Dr Kamal Saini, Dr Promilla Sharma Director KHN Hospital, Mr S P Verma, Mrs Shila and Mr Mahesh Chopra, S Jaswant Singh, Thakur Kashmir Singh Manhas, Capt (Retd) Bari Singh, S Tarlok Singh Bajwa and Mr Bachan Bhagat, AIR.

No any cash shall be accepted in any shape and only prescribed and required study materials shall be accepted as per the convenience of the donors. The donors will have direct link with the child to be looked after and assisted for education to maintain the transparency on the same pattern as the donor directly presents the utensils, cloths and other gifts to the orphan daughters during their marriages solemnized by ‘‘SAHYOG’’. The organisation has nothing to do with that, except coordination and bringing the well meaning people more closer to the needy, Dr Ashwani Jojra added.

The Sanmati Vimal Jain Model School R S Pura and Prince Doll Day Boarding school shall render free services to the candidates admitted as per the statements of Mr Ashok Choudhary Administrator, SVJM School and Mr Pawan Kumar, Principal Prince Doll Academy R S Pura.
