MENDHAR, May 9: The Sub Divisional Magistrate, Mendhar placed eight teachers under suspension for being absent from duty while one school was found locked during duty hours today.
Acting on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner Poonch, the SDM deputed teams under the supervision of First Class Magistrate to several schools in Zone Balakote and Harni today and found eight teachers absent from duty. The team also found Govt Middle School Dhabi near LOC in Balakote closed. During movement the inspection team was kept detained by the Army at a gate but later with the intervention of SDM the army allowed them to move forward. They found Middle School at Dhabi closed at 11 am. All the four teachers posted in the school were placed under suspension. They are Abdul Rehman, Mohd Rafiq, Mohd Gafoor and Tahir Mehmood. Two teachers of Govt Pry School Awan Niakka, namely Sarfraz Iqbal and Shaheen Akhtar were also found absent and placed under suspension. Two more teachers, Mohd Razak and Tariq Mohd of Pry School Parath in Harni zone were also suspended for being absent.
