8 injured as truck hits Tata Sumo

RAMBAN, Feb 9: Eight persons were injured, when a truck hit a Tata Sumo near Maroog area, falling under the jurisdiction of Ramban police station.
As per police sources, a Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK14B-0395 was on its way to Ukhral from Ramban, when it was hit by a truck bearing registration number HP38C-8559 coming from Srinagar to Jammu near Maroog. The collision was so potent that the Tata Sumo rolled down into gorge after being hit by the truck, resulting into injuries to 8 persons.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and started rescue operation. All the injured persons were shifted to District Hospital Ramban, from where two injured persons were referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu for advanced treatment.
The injured have been identified as Zubair Ahmed of Pogak, Mushtaq Ahmed (driver of Tata Sumo) of Pogal, Shashi Sharma of Ramban, Babishan Singh of Kunda Pogal, Naik Singh of Ramsul Surjeet Singh of Kot Pogal, Ranjeet Singh of Kot Pogal and Uttam Singh of Ukhral.
A case under relevant Section has been registered at Ramban police station and investigation started.
