716th birth anniversary of Sant Sai Mahraj celebrated

JAMMU, May 4: The 716th birth anniversary of Sant  Shiromani Sai Mahraj was celebrated with fervour and enthusiasm by the Sai Samaj of Jammu and Kashmir at Kashyap Rajput Sabha Moro Bazar here, today.
The celebrations started  with the paying of obeisance to Sant Shiromani Sain Dass Ji Mahraj by mammoth gathering of the Biradari and general public who attended the function.
MLA Jammu East Rajesh Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion and also paid his obeisance to the great saint and recalled his great deeds and virtues.
Mr Gupta announced a sum of Rs 10 lakhs on the occasion from his Constituency Development Fund.
Prizes and mementos were distributed among the deserving students of the Samaj. Besides sewing machines were distributes among the destitute women.   All the speakers on the occasion talked about the great humanism of the Sant Shiromani Ji Mahraj who had spread the message of love, brotherhood, equality, fraternity and humanity amongst the masses.
The speakers while speaking on the occasion paid glowing tributes to the great saint and said that the message of Sain Ji Mahraj who inspired even the rulers and the kings of the times to act fairly and justly with their subjects.
Sant Shiromanis Vani finds Mention in the Guru Granth Sahib also, they added.
The whole function was organized under the Presidentship of Shri Kasturi Lal Basotra and in the presence of all the biradari members and office bearers.
The prominent who participated in the function included senior BJP leaders Karen Singh, Dalip Gupta, Rajesh Sharma, Prof. Shyam, P.C. Gupta, Ravi Singh, Kuldeep, Shashi Sapolia, Raj Kumar, Charanjeet, Sunny Sehgal, Romesh, Amit and Ved Prakash.
