7 PoK guests arrive in Kashmir; 8 Kashmiris cross other side of LoC

SRINAGAR: Despite tension along the Line of Control (LoC) due to Ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Jammu region, seven guests from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) arrived here today while eight Kashmiris crossed over to other side of Line of Control (LoC) in the weekly Karvan-e-Aman bus, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad.

Meanwhile, Poonch-Rawalakot Bus Service has been suspended due to continuous Ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops.

Eleven returnees also crossed sides at the Kaman Post, in Uri sector, official sources told UNI.

They said seven PoK residents, including two women, arrived at Kaman Post after crossing the Aman Setu, peace bridge, on foot to meet their relatives, separated in 1947.

Nine Kashmiris, who had gone to the PoK, also returned to their homes after completing their stay across the LoC. They included a woman.

They said eight Kashmiris, including two women and a child, crossed over to the other side.

Meanwhile, two PoK residents, including a woman, returned to his home in the bus. (AGENCIES)
