JAMMU, Apr 14: At least seven hutments today turned into ashes due to mysterious fire in Bhagwati Nagar area, falling under the jurisdiction of Nowabad police station.
As per police sources, a mysterious fire engulfed at least seven hutments (jhuggies) raised on a vacant plot in Bhagwati Nagar area here early morning.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and with the help of fire fighters and doused the flames.
There were total nine hutments out of which seven turned into ashes.
No injury or casualty has been reported in the incident, while the exact loss could not be ascertained yet.
Short circuit due to high tension wire might be the reason behind the fire, however, Nowabad police is investigating the matter.
